Frugal, Indeed!

My folding seat that makes long trips around the Putt Putt course easier. Photo taken by and the property of FourWalls.

A couple of my golfing buddies are frugal, so I like to share my victories over expensive things with them. Yesterday while playing my back started hurting really bad, so I went to my car and got my folding seat out. I pointed out to them that a lot of medical supply places carry a "walking cane" that converts to a three-legged seat. The absolute cheapest I've seen them for is $35, and those have such a low weight limit that some of my squirrels couldn't sit on it! Most of the ones that'll hold my overweight butt run in the $50-and-up range. Bah. I went to Bass Pro Shop and got a folding seat without the cane. Ten bucks. Frugal, indeed! Oh, and unlike the cane, that you must carry, the folding seat has a shoulder strap so you can have your hands free! Heck, I don't mind spending money for good things; however, spending that much money for nonsense when there's something significantly cheaper that'll do the same thing is out of the question!

Great purchase. I need to sit down often too. Had to buy a rollator with a seat. Have a great day.

it is about functionality - the fancy addition of for medical purposes, adds money!

I agree with you on that one. No reason to pay high prices on things if you don't have to. The best things I've ever bought have been on sale.

You have the right idea and as they say, anything that costs a lot is not always the best and sometimes the cheaper can be even better
