Don't 'file' it in the garbage

Most people who receive this book usually just take a quick glance or throw it directly into the garbage and, yet, it is full of information for anyone eligible, or becoming eligible, for Medicare and/or Medicaid. By reading pages 57-90 I have learned how to cut my co-pays for doctors, including specialists, to 0 plus of the 12 drugs I am prescribed to take I only pay for 2 inhalers and I get a 3 month supply and pay for only 1 month. You can be on a 5-star insurance plan and still do better with their Medicare Advantage plan. Should you be retired and living on Social Security reading this book is a must. Comparing the plans in the back of the book over the years I found out a few 'secrets' such as getting $80 free over the counter items every month plus Florida has special plans for people who have a lower income--just have to check out your own State. Medical expenses are getting higher and higher every year and this "Medicare & You 2021" will help you make them lower and, in most cases, a lot lower. Spend an hour or two going through it--you'll be 'richer' for it!

Healthcare is a very confusing business here and I assume also in Chile!

While private medical care is available in the UK most things are free for us. l know some medical expenses are terribly expensive in the USA here we do not pay for anything. It is paid for through our taxes and national insurance when we are working! l do not envy you!

I hear nightmare stories about having to wait months for operating procedures, etc., in the UK though I really don't know how true that it is. I have no complaints with Medicare as I have had an aorta valve replaced, congestive heart failure and have COPD, PAD, Gout, etc., most of my costs are picked up under the sustem.

I was happy to get refunds of co-pays this year, due to COVID. Cigna said nothing due through the end of the year, all office visits.

I have one of those plans, and needless to say it's a life saver. I get a lot of over-the-counter goodies pratically free. (I have an OTC card) and my scripts are only 3.60/piece. Since I only have two and it's a 90-day suply, that isn't half bad. My test strips for my blood sugar meter are only 20. So, I know what you mean by a lot of savings.

That $80 a month over the counter items I get is a big money saver!! And there are so many things like that people should look into but they don't.
