How is being dismissive different from being disrespectful?

I see both of them as a form of disrespect. When you dismiss a person by saying they are insignificant without knowing nothing about them is disrespectful as saying directly that "I don't respect you." That person may not be someone important to you but all persons are important or significant to their family and friends. Hence, no person is insignificant. What are your thoughts on this?

Yes I agree with you. It's so disrespectful to behave like that with anyone

I read some dismissive comments about the boy band BTS, even if they don't know them and haven't listened to their music or messages. I think it shows the person's insecurity, immaturity, xenophobia, and pessimism.
