There is the proverb 'the grass in the neighbor's yard always looks greener than the grass in your own yard' in my country. This means more or less, we always see that something that belongs to others is better than our own. However, objectively speaking, it is very possible that this is not the case. So want to know, is there a similar proverb in your place?

There aren't many truly original proverbs. Very many proverbs exist in many languages in one form or the other. The one you've mentioned here exists also in German.
