The Fire Alarm Went On

I was baking 6 pizza toasts for dinner this evening with our leftover corned beef and salami. 3 toasts with salami and 3 with corned beef. I just brushed olive oil on the white bread slices, add tomato sauce, pizza spices, salt, corned beef, salami and mozzarella on top of them.
I preheated the oven when I was preparing the pizza toasts. Suddenly, our fire alarm in our hallway ceiling went on. It was not smoky yet in the kitchen but a bit smelling of smoke. Maybe that was the cause that our alarm went on.
I run to the bedroom where our folding ladder was stored. I didn´t want to alert our neighbors that we have the fire inside. Lol! I am glad I am still good at running. I climbed on the ladder and put off the fire alarm.
Have you experienced that before while you were busy cooking?
Well, the toasts pizza was good and we still have leftover. It is just now that I logged in as I was doing my grocery shopping today. We went to another supermarket and it was good as the shop was almost empty. No hectic for me and not freezing cold inside.
Thanks for reading. I hope you have a wonderful Friday.

We have smoke alarms in every room - and yes, every now and then one of them will go off because of something in the kitchen. Usually it's when I have something in the oven at a very high temperature . . . we don't see smoke but obviously the alarm sense something (which is completely annoying to us). I have to climb up there too and yank out the alarm and then the batteries inside.

@thelme55 Ah, you are lucky you have a door! When we moved here, we removed the wall that had a sliding door (but the door must've been stuck for a long time) - so no door for us. I guess with the open space, that's why the alarms find the smoke
. Hope you're having a good week thus far!

I have to remind myself to close the kitchen door when I will be baking tomorrow and prepare the broom if the alarm goes off again. Yes, obviously the alarm senses the burning smell of what I am cooking. Thank you @much2say. Have a nice weekend.

Did the kitchen cover with smoke? It's good it's not a shower. It's just an alarm.

No, it was not covered with smoke but only smelt a bit of smoke. Yes, I am glad we don´t have a sprinkler with the alarm. Thanks @Nakitakona

It's kinda very sensitive, well yeah it must be sensitive. However, when I'm cooking I'm turning the fire alam detection off, and turn it back on after I cook, just to make sure that there'll be no problem. Do you have sprinkler or it is just an alarm?

It is very annoying to keep the alarm on and of before and after cooking. I cook every day and that is a lot to do with the alarm. It is just an alarm. Every household in Germany is obliged to have a fire alarm at home. Thank you @Timex123. Have a nice weekend.

We haven't had the alarm go off during cooking since we moved. It's a good thing because it will automatically alert the fire department!

That would be bad if it will alert automatically to the fire department when you are only cooking and no fire at all. Thanks @LindaOHio. Have a nice Monday.

Your toasts made me hungry! It's good you are so strong to run and climb that ladder! Congrats for that!

Thank you @acelawrites. Next time I will use a broom to silence the alarm.

It happens from time to time, but not in a while thankfully. Good thing it was nothing major!
