Day 49 Promise 507 Luke 21:29 And he spoke to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; 30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. 31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. 32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. 33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. 34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. 35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. We like to know what is going to happen from one day to the next. It’s now always possible even with good planning because something always happens to throw our plans out the window. Jesus told His disciples what would happen in the end-times. He told them that everything they knew would pass away, but His Word would never pass away. His Word is eternal. He also told His disciples they needed to be counted worthy to escape what would come to pass. As Christians, you know Jesus referred to the Tribulation and the only way to escape the Tribulation is the rapture. We need to be ready always, working for the Kingdom of God, so that when we hear the trumpet call, we will escape what will come next. Jesus also said, This generation would not pass away until all was fulfilled. It doesn’t sound logical because we know a generation is approximately forty years. Yet, Jesus wasn’t talking about a physical generation, but a spiritual one. This generation is the Age of Grace, the time of the Gentiles. When this time ends, then the rapture will take place, and heaven and earth as we know them, will disappear. Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. Are you ready? Have you been busy working for the Kingdom of God? Are you watching and praying? Let’s pray: Father, let me be counted worthy to escape the Tribulation. Help me to be faithful in everything you want me to do as I work for Your kingdom, watching and praying, lest I miss the trumpet call. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. I love this verse that everything has to pass but God's words never.

What gets me is how many people (including so-called religious scholars) who think they can predict the end of times. Jesus was very clear that no one--not even him--knew when the day would come. Only God our heavenly father knows that. So it's imperative that we be ready at all times, so that we can be called by Christ at the time of the Rapture.
