Trump couldn't fool Philippine government when it comes to taxes.

If there is one bureau of government the Filipinos do take seriously, it's the Bureau of Internal Revenue. Sigh!. The accountants couldn't be fooled. They do know how to compute. And one tower Trump probably regretted - the Trump Tower in Makati obscured by happier go-to malls in the city. Not many people would opt for that tower, only the elite, who were not as enticed either, it seems. The Makati Local Government was paid $156,824, or an equivalent of PhP 7.6M in taxes, higher than that of Panama and India, and the USA. Wish though that tower is gone.

To think that the owner of the property only paid $750 in taxes!

@allen0187 This situation has reached a tipping point. There is no balance any longer. The billionaires have accumulated riches that when distributed to they eight billion human population, they could still be billionaires. That is too much greed. That is the reason for all the unrest round the world now. Have you seen Belarus?

I think that Mayor Abby really looks after her city. Albeit the current demagoguery in our country is pathetic, and we all know that the taxes we dutifully pay are being corrupted. Just the same, because the citizens are obedient to our laws, something good will come later. Yay for Makati.
