My mom is not an antique collector but my grandparents bought nice stuff during their time and it is still working. In the picture was an antique lamp that mom hang in our terrace for display only.I remember this lamp when I was still young.I live with my grandparents because mom works in U.K. When there is power outage my grandfather would use this lamp .It is lighted by using gas or kerosene and a match stick .And voila there's light from the lamp. Do you have any old or antique item too?

It's called a " gasera" it's old but not really old, it's vintage but not exactly an antique yet. See to it that rust does not eat up the gas ( kerosene) tank otherwise it would become useless. I have 2 antique kerosene lamps circa 1800s-1900s that's made of glass crystal not tin metal.

@iKONICNoona " gaseras" were sold in big hardwares especially in Manila from the 50s well up to the 80s before they were replaced by rechargeable lighting during the brownout era of Cory and Ramos.
I included a picture of my 2 antique lamps, I hate to brag but I saw a similar hanging one in the house of Rizal in Calamba, Laguna, they are called " lamparas" rather than " gaseras".
I also read somebody post "petromax" , what you have is not a petromax, that one has a pump in the side and uses a chemical filament instead of a cotton wick that glows very bright like fluorescent lighting. Hope i was able to share a little of my knowledge in a humble way.

Back in the 80s we had that lamp and we called it Petromax. I guess it was the brand of that lamp.

@amitkokiladitya I think lamps were also used in different parts of the world because there were no electricity at that time.
