Day 54
Promise 512
John 1:29 The next day John saw Jesus coming unto him, and said, Behold the Lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world.
Have you needed to find someone but didn’t know anything about the person, but as soon as you saw them, you knew them immediately?
The Pharisees approached John the Baptist and asked if he was the coming Messiah. John told them he wasn’t, but one would soon appear whose shoes he wasn’t worthy to unloose.
When John saw Jesus among the crowd he proclaimed Him as the Lamb of God who came to take away the sins of the world. John knew him by sight, even though they had not previously met.
As Christians, you don’t need a face to face encounter with Jesus to know He is your Savior and Lord, your Messiah.
John 20:26 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.
27 Then said he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
29 Jesus said unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
When you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord, the Holy Spirit confirmed your decision and gave you the understanding you needed to discern between the real Savior and false. You know Jesus when you spend time with Him in Bible study and prayer. The more time you spend with Him, the better you know Him, so that when Satan comes to you with false doctrine and false messiahs, you know the truth from Satan’s lies.
John the Baptist knew Jesus because he spent time in the law and prophets. The law and prophets showed him what to expect when Jesus came to him to be baptized. God had also told him what to expect.
John 1:31 And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.
32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.
33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizes with the Holy Ghost.
34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.
John knew Jesus when he saw Him and declared Jesus to be the Son of God.
When Jesus works in your life, do you declare what He did for you or do you keep quiet? You are His witness. When He heals, delivers, and saves those you pray for, you declare Jesus as Savior and Lord.
Let’s pray: Father, help me be Your witness when You work in my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Faith works. How it works? It works to those who are have not seen, and yet they have believed.
