Day 57 Promise 515 John 3:36 He who believes on the Son hath everlasting life: and he who believes not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abides on him. Many people believe they will go to heaven because they live good lives. They do many wonderful deeds, giving to the poor and those in need during natural disasters. They also make certain everyone knows what they did and how much they gave. John the Baptist made the profound statement about Jesus when he said those who believe in the Son has eternal life and those who didn’t would not see life but the wrath of God. As Christians, you know there is only one way to get to heaven. It doesn’t matter how good you are, how many acts of kindness you do, how much you give to various organizations to help the needy, or those affected by natural disasters. It doesn’t even matter that you go to church every week. The only thing that matters is that you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord and bear the fruit of your faith in Jesus Christ. John 15:1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 Every branch in me that bears not fruit he takes away: and every branch that bears fruit, he purges it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He who abides in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6 If a man abides not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. 8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. There is only one way you can get to heaven—believing Jesus is the Son of God and accepting Him as your Savior and Lord. John 14:6 Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me. One way. One truth. One life. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for showing me the way to heaven and eternal life is through Your Son, Jesus. Help me to be faithful to You as I walk through this life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
