Thanksgiving This Year... A Week Away :(

We have decided not to host Thanksgiving this year. :( The numbers in our area are still climbing sadly. Our community newspaper this week, strongly urged that we not invite anyone to dinner who doesn't live in the household... so it's going to be a quiet Thanksgiving, this year, but necessary. I'm not even sure about Christmas at this point!
I almost wish that they could have implemented the lock down for a bit longer. I know that it is hurting businesses, and I feel for them, but if more people would have followed the rules, maybe we could have put this behind us.
In your area... are you seeing people without masks, or get-togethers that really didn't need to take place??

I didn't think that we would be having Thanksgiving celebrations this year.
They warned us back in March that the second wave would be here by now, and its a lot worse then the original one was.
I have my doubts about Christmas also, I just do not think that there will be anything until at least next summer.

Guess that I'm an optimist... I was hoping. From what I have heard, the Santa Claus parade has been cancelled as well. Makes sense when they can rerun one from years gone by. Actually, that might be highly entertaining if they can dig up an old one! Even I would sit down and watch that.
I guess that there is no hope for Halloween either! Just thought of that!

@Juliaacv Goodness... You are right... I hadn't thought that far ahead. New Years Eve is a big one for us too... We met on a blind date that night. It's going to be a quiet one although, we can't stay up like we used to lol!

@Hate2Iron I think that it is safe to say that any celebrations that we are used to will be cancelled at least until the spring. I have my doubts for Easter at this point, and I am not trying to be negative, I am trying to be realistic. Last May my hubby and I started to discuss how we would ring in the new year as we will not be able to do what we usually do which is going out for supper.
We are stocked up here, I only go out when we need fresh fruit, vegetables, bread and dairy.
I am very thankful that I work from home.

We used to before our darling daughter turned us into vegetarians...;) for the most part lol! If we were having company, we would have one to serve but not this year.

The more I think about it... the more likely it will be for large gatherings to be cancelled. Hubby is talking that this might be a 2 year problem!

we can do get togethers here. Just have to limit the amount of people.

Yes longer lockdown may have helped but they need to think about the businesses too. Take care and stay careful
