Hate this new modem

My brother had a problem yesterday with their internet connection. Sadly, he can't use it for his online meetings and kids couldn't get on online classes. Since it's pandemic, it's hard to get the technicians to come over immediately. I hate this new thing because when something goes wrong with it, both land line and internet gets disabled. Unlike the old system were modem and landline were both connected through a filter. Good thing we have a tenant who has the same subscription as us. We just go to them in case we get internet trouble.

Oh no what kind of connection is that you have there. l think they should be explaining to you the difference with the new setup why they did it.

@Letranknight2015 Maybe your connection is fiber already? l know that their setup looks like that when the phone and the modem comes from single source already.

Fortunately there's still a way to go online. It is very inconvenient now if we can't go online, especially when we have to work at home and kids need to attend the online classes. My modem was down for a month few months ago when the technician was not allowed to come over as well. Though I can use my mobile phone with the data plan, limited internet access with mobile phone made it really inconvenient. Hope you'll get the issue fixed very soon.

I think there was a big problem with connection yesterday since it was the start of online schooling. All of the students were online

Sorry you experience this. The modem has no warranty? Maybe you could return it and replace new one.
