What was Hamlet trying to say?

October 6, 2020 9:09am CST
Hamlet said, "There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy" I binged "The Haunting of Hill House" yesterday. In it, Carla Gugino said that quote. By saying that, are they trying to prove that Ghosts are real and that Philosophy(science) is unreliable?

Certainly not. Hamlet suggests that human knowledge is limited - which is a wise insight and still true in our century.

It's an opinion, and therefore it is no more likely to be correct than any contrary opinion until reliable proof is produced to confirm it.
