Can you eat or taste it?

Do you have aloevera plant at home?
Do you know that many are using aloevera for their hair and skin?
But there is unusual thing i saw in videos,that they are eating the gel of aloevera.
Even some Chinese ate it,but i don't know for what reason.They mixed with yoghurt.
Have you tried using aloevera on your skin or hair?Or do you eat it also?

I don’t have it as a plant at all. I do have location with it in it for my skin when it dries out for the winter. But I don’t keep plants inside the house with my kids being stuck here all of the time.
