This picture which l took is of the counsel building used to discuss the tribe's situation and make democratic decisions for their good.
The guide at the Cherokee Village told us that the Cheokee Native Americans were a democratic people who discussed their situations and made decisions for their collective good. She also told us that the Cherokees were a peaceful people, only going to war essentially for defense, not to conquer other peoples.
