Two Trolleys Full

Yesterday, I proudly shared my daughter's fb post about her MA degree with distinction from a London university. My daughter blushed when she received the transcript of records, with honors, officially making her an alumna. The post garnered lots of congratulatory remarks. I was grateful, of course. When evening came, I listened to a few homilies from my favorite preachers. From out of the blue came a new one, a young priest, and I decided to listen. His sermon was brief, and in the vernacular, telling a tale of three people justifying their way for a passage to heaven. The first man has a trolley full of books. Heaven's gatekeeper asked him what all those books are for. The man answered he wrote all those books to benefit mankind. He was let in. The second man also has a trolley, full of papers. He told the gatekeeper that those are documents he drafted to assist all who needed help. He was let in. The third was a woman who carried nothing and stooped a little. The gatekeeper asked her if she has something to show for a passage to heaven. She said, 'Yes, of course, see those two men with trolleys full? They are my sons.' She was let in. The smile stayed on my cheeks to slumber.

There was not a day since my girls were born that I was not proud of them. There was a stormy night we were at UP Shopping Center, xeroxing materials for research and reviews, and the lightnings were so fierce, the thunder so deafening, and the rains poured hard, unmindful of the winds, and I sat on the driver's seat, waiting for my girls, praying there would be no flash flood on the way home, but I remember thinking, too, that we were there at that exact moment because God wanted my girls to meet the storm, and beat it. You are correct though, because the achievements should be highlighted. I am very proud I posted the accomplishment on facebook.

@rsa101 That's a prayer. But if I don't, it's all right. Always our God's Will be done.

Yes, dear friend, it was meant for me. We have stacks and stacks of books and clear books. But we still live on a day to day basis, not exactly a comfortable life. We don't aim for that comfortable life actually, just the happy life you wished on us. Thank you very much.

It is a good homily. The masa appreciate the stories of the kingdom more with such tales. More exciting in the vernacular.

Thank you very much. Yes, that's quite an honor. The 'With Distinction' is a difficult feat. Masteral courses are tough enough, With Distinction is rarely given. Yup, I was able to relate to the sermon. I was their all around domestic help cooking and washing laundry, plus the daily errand girl driving them to and from school. Never interfered in their decisions. Only gave my viewpoints when sought.
