FBI Thwarts Plan To Kidnap Governor Of Michigan

The media is only a making medium deal out of this. Fox News barely even mentions it, but why are Americans, not going holy crap, that is straight crazy.? I am telling you, if this was especially Obama's administration or any Democrat's administration. The whole country would would be on fire amd not just a place here and a place there.
Apparently, 6 men who live in Michigan, had a plan to Kidnap Governor Gretchen Whitmer who just happens to be a Democrat. all because they wanted to start a..... what....? A civil war! Now that is scary and the craziest thing I have ever heard, but remember white MEN who are born citizens of this country can never be considered terrorists, unless maybe they shoot the President, but all else is fair game.
Again, why are American citizens saying, who cares? Something seriously went wrong with this country.

In my book the main character gets kidnapped a few times, kills the kidnappers and is free and smiling.

Nothing is wrong with if its a fictional book, but I think "Homeland' TV Show did something similar with a Lady President of US, but think it was kidnap her if you can or kill her if they catch on to the plot.
I think It was the best season outside of the Character Brody who was a captured Marine POW turned Muslim extremest, sent to spy on its own country so they could do bigger attacks than 9/11.
