Can Email Word Be Replaced With Gmail?

From past few years am noticing people have starting to use word 'Google' in place of search or find or discover and you must have noticed this too. They will say Google it instead of search it or find it so in the same way can we start using Gmail instead of email because It's also a product of Google and so popular. Although not very safe but still they have large number of subscribers.
Do you think we can replace word email with Gmail now or in coming years?

no there are other free mail services that have larger user populations.

@Butterfingers Outlook.com is larger than Gmail, Yahoo is smaller than gmail, there are many other free services as well.
