Day 63
Promise 521
John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he who comes to me shall never hunger; and he who believes on me shall never thirst.
Bread is a staple in many cultures. There are many kinds of bread made from ancient ingredients to the more common bread found on store shelves. Not all bread is nutritious.
Jesus told the people He was the bread of life. Those who came to Him for what He could give them would never go away hungry or thirsty.
As Christians, you know the bread Jesus talked about is the life-giving spiritual food for your soul. When you open God’s Word to read and study it, you give your soul life-sustaining nourishment. Your soul needs nourishment as much as your body does. If you don’t feed your soul, you soon lose all desire for the things of God.
You wouldn’t deprive your body of life-sustaining food, yet people deprive their souls of the life-giving nourishment it needs to maintain a right relationship with the Father.
Don’t let your soul go hungry. Open God’s Word today and read and study what God wants to give you today. Let Him nourish and sustain your life.
Let’s pray: Father, let Your Word be nourishment for my soul. Draw me close to You as I study Your Word. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
