Wow. I had a good day today, despite the fact that I woke up way earlier than I need to (1 a.m.) and as usual misjudged how long it would take me to set up. I got up, had breakfast, and figured "What's the use of waiting?" (for my co-worker who said she'd come help me set up), so I hauled everything out there (while hauling everything out I misplaced my camera, so I had to take photos with my new phone, which is not set up to get photos off of yet). I think that hauling everything out took--an hour? An hour and a half? I had a book to read, but couldn't really read it until it got light enough out. I think my first "looker" came at--about quarter to eight. I wasn't "officially" supposed to open until 9:30, but I got started so early, I said, "What the heck". I had a fairly regular stream of customers most of the day. I didn't sell things for much, but the idea was more to get rid of things, anyhow. I haven't had the chance yet to count the $$ to see the "whopping amount" I made. A little before nine thirty my co-worker showed up with her daughter. We chatted a while, and when a mutual acquaintance came by who also happened to be my neighbor, she went to chat with her a bit, then went home or to run some errands or something. Later my brother came by with my youngest nephew to get something out of the back shed, and he told me he needed to use his trailer for a 4 wheeling trip, so he would put the stuff that I had put in it in the garage or shed where it would be safe. I hadn't talked to him in a while, so I'm glad he came over for whatever reason. It started to sprinkle toward the end of the sale, and thankfully my co-worker came by again to help me clean up (though I had originally told her I was closing at 2:30, then I looked at my own sign and saw it said 2pm, so I had to text her to let her know). She came by to help me clean up, and I gave her a few things she said she liked in thanks for her help. She said Monday she'd come by and we'd take the leftover stuff to some charity places. When I was done, I took a shower. Still haven't counted the $$, but I will. Again, it was more about getting rid of stuff than anything else. Glad I did it.
