Day 66
Promise 524
John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (KJV)
Many religions have disciples and doctrines they follow. They spend many days and sometimes years learning from their religious leaders.
Jesus told those who believed He was the Son of God that if they continued in His Word, believed what He told them, then they would be His disciples. As they learned more from Him, they would know the truth, and the truth would set them free.
As Christians, the more you study God’s Word, the more you learn about God and Jesus, your Savior.
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman who needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
The more you learn, the more you know God’s Word is infallible. Many people will argue that the Bible was written by men and translated so many times that the original text is no longer available and the truth has been lost. Yet, God protects His Word and shows that though men wrote the Bible, they were guided by the Holy Spirit.
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
When you know the truth of God’s Word, you see how all of it fits together and is in agreement from Genesis to Revelation. No other book ever written can make that claim.
Many people have tried to find the fallacies of God’s Word. They were atheists, agnostics, people who didn’t believe the Bible, yet the more they studied, the more they learned the truth about God’s Word, and the truth set them free. They turned from atheism and agnosticism to men and women of faith in Jesus Christ.
You too can know the truth of God’s Word when you study it. As you do, the truth of God’s Word will set you free and you will be one of Jesus’ disciples.
Let’s pray: Father, help me study Your Word daily as Your disciple. Help me see the truth written in the pages of Your Word and let Your Word set me free. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
