Since last two months, I have been reading these two novels from different authors. The timelines are so stark. One has the early 20th century, with its own complexity and suspense and a little bit of thrill. Yet at a soothing pace. The novel: The Murder of Roger Ackroyd : One of the best of the best selling author Agatha Christie. Then, I have this fast paced thriller with suspense and complexity multiplied many a times. The plot is based on late 1990s, but so much looks like of the present times. Just when someone looks like to be someone with an honor above board, there is a twist and we learn of some horrific thing. The Novel: The Matarese Countdown by one of my favorites Robert Ludlum(The Bourne Legacy, The Bourne Ultimatum etc author) In fact, when I was reading the later one today, at one point, the plot began to kind of overwhelm me with words and twists and I had to take a break- mainly for my brain. Or as Hercule Poirot says - for those "Little grey cells" !! Well, well that is quite a lot! Isn't it?

They both sound like interesting thrillers. I have not read a fiction in looooo.. ng time. I have very little time left for reading and I end up reading books related to my work.. About education, therapies etc. Maybe this Dussehra holiday I will pick something from my daughter's bookshelf. Though with so many things on hand, I am not sure!! And definitely our grey cells need breaks

@arunima25 I was not reading in between for many months. Then I decided that I do need to read books at least once or twice a week. It keeps my mind in certain order! And yes our brains do need recharging at times.

@arunima25 Yes at times, venturing into the fiction world helps to break the real life monotony.

@arunima25 That is a lot of reading. In my novel, the good ones are about to face a stern test, warnings of which are not directly mentioned, but indicated.

My little grey cells need a break from overworking at times. I read book after book without much of a break as a rule. Perhaps that is what caused my migraine. lol

I might get confused if I read two novels at the same time!

@TheHorse I read them one after another. Yet I was talking about the varying styles of them.

Sometimes we need to stop reading and digest the last reading. It took me about 3-4 days to digest and read again.
