Miserable in France.

The Filipinos have endured it in Japan, in Hongkong, in Saudi, or elsewhere in the Middle East, for half-a-century. The living conditions were cruel. Inhuman. Yet, the Filipinos rose above the discrimination and the violence, for better lives and brighter future. This report from the Guardian is heart-wrenching.

True. Southeast Asian countries are usually frowned upon, condescended, discriminated. Yet the world finds the most enduring and self-sacrificing human beings this tiny corner of the world.

Hopefully they are better treated in Canada! I have known a number of Filipinos over the years and have never heard of a problem here but that doesn't mean they don't have any.

I do hope so. I wish the Filipinos you got to know are amiable and kind. Have you ever shared Christmas with them?

@eileenleyva I cannot say anything negative about any Filipinos I have met. I got along with them.

I do feel for the young Filipino domestic workers abused and even accused of wrongdoing. All the Filipinos ever wanted is to have a chance for a better lives, yet they find themselves living bitter lives.
