Day 68
Promise 526
John 10:7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
8 All who ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
9 I am the door: by me if any man enters in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10 The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd gives his life for the sheep.
People want to believe in something that can save them from the life they know and give them something better. In doing so they create gods and worship them, giving them powers they never possessed.
The children of Israel did that when they came out of Egypt and made their way to the Promised Land.
Exodus 32:1 And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him. (KJV)
Jesus knew the heart of the people and told them He was the Good Shepherd who took care of the sheep. All those who came before Him were thieves and robbers who came to steal, kill, and destroy. He told them He came to give them abundant life.
The psalmist showed we are sheep and need to listen to the voice of our Maker.
Psalm 95:6 O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.
7 For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. Today if ye will hear his voice,
8 Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work.
As Christians, you heard God’s voice and chose to hear the message of salvation. When you did, you heard Jesus’ voice and committed to follow Him.
John 10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. (KJV)
Jesus laid down His life for your salvation and took it up again so you could have eternal life.
John 10:15 As the Father knows me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
18 No man takes it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
No other god can make the claim Jesus did. No other god died and rose again. Jesus promised to take care of all those who accepted Him as Savior and Lord and keep them in the safety of His hand.
John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.
30 I and my Father are one. (KJV)
Have you heard Jesus’ voice? Have you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord? It isn’t too late.
Let’s pray: Father, I am a sheep in Your pasture. Help me always to hear Your voice and listen when You speak. Let Your message of salvation reach those who don’t know You. Let them know they are safe in Your hands. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Yes, the Good Shepherd's voice (Jesus Christ) draws us unto salvation. After we are saved, hearing God's voice becomes much harder. He wants to instruct us day by day, to follow our heavenly Father's will. The hearing becomes dull at times, because sin remains within the hearts of his chosen few.

@kobesbuddy Yes, and when we realize it, we need to seek God's forgiveness and He will give it.

@just4him Sin is something that can be hidden, inside a person's heart. Bad attitudes, doubt, fear, anger, resentment, unforgiveness.
