Quilting Blues

Before we moved I worked on a quilt almost every day. Now that we have moved, all of my sewing items are in the storage unit and I won't have access to them until we get out of this efficiency and moved into a larger place. With 4 of us in this little space, there is no room for me to relax and sew my cares away. At least the urge to buy fabric has abated since being in this little space. For now, I am pinning away on Pinterest for designs I want to try and essential oil combinations for when I am quilting. I will be so happy to get my little crafting corner of my room set back up again.

My family has learned...no matter how small I need a place to sew and quilt. The dining room table can hold a sewing machine for short periods of time, Sometimes it is just a small hand project that fills my need. The piecing was done by machine..the applique by hand. Now to hand quilt it in the evening in my chair.

The only hand "quilting" that I do is when I put the binding on by hand. I know it has become popular to sew it on or to even sew the back half on. I found that I like the peace I get from sitting still, listening to some calming music, and sewing the binding by hand. I definitely need to pick up some binding clips before I do my next project. I would hate to lose a pin and then find it in my foot. I told my kids that part of my stress has come from the fact that I can't sew and destress that way. We don't even have a table that I could sew at. That is a beautiful quilt. I've only ever done jelly roll race quilts.

aw, sorryto hear that. I hope you can soon quilt again. I tried that before for some throw pillows. But I like to try the comforter but I do not have the time and space to do it

Right now I am focusing more on my planner and am actually trying to come up with a personalized quilting planner to make. I am getting really specific with what I want done with it so I am getting that prepared for when I do start quilting again. It helps that the Walmart where we live doesn't really have a fabric section so I am not constantly reminded of not being able to craft. How did your pillows come out?
