My InLaw is a Victim of Bogus Baker

Recently it was my husband mother's birthday and my sis-in-law ordered the nowadays-famous-money-cake from someone she knew. Well to make it short the cake is not a cooked cake and the money inserted in the cake is just 50 dollar but it should be 120 dollar. the icing is not enough also and it is really really messy.
I'm a baker so i really know how was it then the whole family of my husbandwas kinda upset about that baker. I think that fake baker only use the opportunity of having baking ordered cakes are famous nowadays and just picked up some good cakes in the internet and posted it in her social media just so the viewer and buyers will think it's her creation.
I dont know why still other people can fool everyone just to earn money.

is that the type of cake where there's money inside?
does it mean the baker kept the 70 dollars?

I too got confused about that dollar thing. I guess she meant to say that for a 50 dollar worth ingredients she charged 120. That's what I guess

yes i think she will keep it for good if my inlaw didnt notice that the money pulled out from the cake was not enough

yes at the same time my sis in law who ordered the cake felt so much shame instead of being proud of the cake gift..they contact the baker and no response and then they went to the house without the baker knowing and beg for forgiveness and promise to return the remaining missing money

That's sad. But the business might pick up for a while but we will soon crash as more and more people disapprove of the quality.
I was confused about the dollar thing. I guess you meant to say that for a $50 cake you ended up paying 120

@arunima25 no, the money is purposely put in the cake. it's the monetary gift from the adult children, aside from the cake.

@Overflowing Oh! That means there is money inside cake for surprise element. This is something new for me and it's quite interesting. Sounds like some marketing strategy similar to lucky draw.

the cake cost only 10 dollars,and inside the cake there should be 120 dollar for a surprise effect,but the bogus baker only put 50..

so true,and i saw a shared page that someone reported that bogus buyer on a page where many people interact also and now she became famous of being a fraud,many complaints appeared already

i do hope so,but if no one will; report her at the police station i guess she will not stop because before she was posted also on a page,in order for it not to spreadshe swore not to do it and will stop selling cake again just to erase the post.but still some found out she continued her modus
