Can you hear that music playing?
The one that sounds like a kids song, all around the mulberry tree?
It’s a popular song that kids know and when my kids hear it! They know the ice cream trucking is coming.
These kids took off running to get back to the house. One of the older kids stopped the truck before he could leave telling him we where getting money for the truck. So I pulled out $10 in charge. Okay more like $2 in $1’s then a bunch of had dollars (they are coins that are 50 cents a piece). I told my 8 year old to have his sister (9 years old), help him give the right change for there ice creams.
So they all came back with character ice cream. Yumm! They also brought back my $1 in half dollars.

They where not waiting for him. They do love when the truck comes which isn’t often.

When I was little we would always wait for the ice cream truck - it was our favorite time of the day. Of course we couldn't get it all the time but when we did we were happy kids and I like the character ice creams too and one with the gum ball eyes those were good!

@ShyBear88 Yeah maybe he's trying to cheer people up with the pandemic going on? We usually have food trucks in the summer but some have been coming around this fall too - I think it's because things were put on hold so long during covid they couldn't come around much this summer.

@Blondie2222 I don’t think it has to do with cheering up. I’m sure he bought more to make extra money because what he sells and gets for selling he gets to keep.

We don’t get them all of the time either just a few times when he comes though. The rule is if I already have ice cream in the freezer they can’t have any from the truck or every other time he comes through. He only comes during the summer so I’m surprised he came now with it being the fall.

@Shavkat anything that is sweet they are happy for. They where excited about this because the last time he came through his daddy didn’t know I promised to get them so and he did know I had money aside for the kids to get some when he did come back.

I had a problem with the Good Humor truck while I was growing up. We always lived in apartments and when I heard the sound of the truck it was a long way to run down and out into the street

You know it's funny. I used to think ice cream trucks were just on television. Growing up they just didn't exist outside of it. Shortly after I moved to my own place (with my husband) I started to hear them from time to time. I would get ice cream from them, too.
