Water chestnuts are in abundance in October .

In Orissa, during October, water chestnuts are there in abundance. They are also called paniphal in India, where pani means water in India and phal means fruit. People eat them and also get a lot of nourishment.

I have never heard or seen them. Do they grow in water?
