So finally the much awaited announcement has been made. The Indian cricket team: a big contingent has been announced for the upcoming cricket tour to Australia. Three teams have been announced for Twenty-20s(T 20s), One Day Internationals(ODIs) and the Test Matches. The good news is that Melbourne would be hosting the traditional Boxers day test match on 26th December. Virat Kohli is the captain for all the 3 formats. Players like Varun Chakravarti, Navdeep Saini, Mohammad Siraj, Sanju Samson have got a look in. One surprise ommission is Suryakumar Yadav of Mumbai Indians(MI)about whom a few former players have raised a lot of hue and cry. Let us see how the things progress. For the first 14 days, the Indians would be in quarantine and Training- I think it might be in Brisbane or Sydney. News source: Times of India

Yes, Suryakumar Yadav,s omission is tough to explain. Also, Devdutt Padikkal. Rohit Sharma's raised eyebrows but Shastri has explained why though belatedly.

@Shiva49 Great sports fan indeed ! I at times, look up at some of 1980s and 90s cricket matches' highlights.

@KityCat His injury case is a bit mysterious. He was at a net practice one day for MI. Yet unavailable for the tour.
