This was a match which I had not seen but had heard people talk about Rahul Dravid playing an attacking innings, unlike his normal innings which were more steadily paced. He made 84 of 94 balls with some big hits especially against Allan Donald, who had troubled a lot of Indian batsmen on the Indian tour of South Africa in 1996-97. Yet I saw some terrific shots by Sachin Tendulkar. He was out in an unfortunate fashion and in a way which looked quite unlucky. Mohammad Azharuddin too hit some good shots but got dismissed due to lapse in concentration. Ajay Jadeja tried to help Rahul Dravid but well he too could not last long. In the end, India failed a bit short of the revised 252 runs target - of 40 overs. They managed 234 runs. South Africa won the series. I remember that South African team of late 1990s was a terrific one with players like Jacques Kallis, Hansie Cronje, Allan Donald, Gary Kirsten, Jonty Rhodes, Lance Kluesener and more. @CarolDM I do watch it lesser now but earlier I was much more into cricket watching.
