They’ve lost it

Our electric company is nuts, our Bill more than tripled due to the wildfires and shut offs, and unfortunately here they have the monopoly. I went on the account to set up my payment for tomorrow, but I’m going to have to call them first, because no way is my Bill as high as it is for a one bedroom, the Bill was actually far less in the summer with the air conditioning running. The odd thing is this insane price increase comes just as they face a 166 million dollar lawsuit for the outage last October when they did not properly notify those who needed to use medical equipment. If I ever am blessed enough to buy a home I’m going solar!

That's good if you plan to stay there, but the initial cost is high for solar.

@Michellekidwell Yes, that is how we felt about Louisiana, but the drive isn't bad to visit. Much nicer in Mississippi and everything is cheaper: taxes, property taxes, food, etc.

@kareng I fell in love with Georgia when I visited but my Nonna’s health began failing, so I didn’t stay, we lost her about 14 months after my trip to visit my best friend!

that happened to us too when we had lockdown, our electric bills tripled. The reason was because all of us were using electricity. I get that but three times more than my usual bill was beserk

Solar is definitely the way to go but the outright cost that you need to come up with is quite expensive as well. Although, in the long run, you will be saving on electricity cost.

It is the same thing here, too. That's the reason why I need to work hard lately. I also have an issue with our electric bill. It was not updated despite being paid on time. By next week, I need to go to the main office, which I don't like falling in line.
