Day 89 Promise 548 Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call. (KJV) When people make promises, they are for a specific time and event. They don’t usually encompass later dates. Peter came to the end of his sermon on this day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit fell on all those who believed in Jesus, and the people asked him what they should do. Peter told them what they needed to do and said the promise of salvation wasn’t only for those who heard him, but for their children and those whom God would call. As Christians, this gives you hope because Peter included you in his statement ‘as many as the Lord our God shall call.’ Salvation is for everyone. No one is excluded 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.. John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: (KJV) John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (KJV) If you always felt left out of the important things in your life, know that God didn’t leave you out of His promise of salvation. Salvation is for everyone, even those who haven’t been born yet. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for including me in Your promise of salvation. Let my life be an example of Your love for everyone. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 6 November 2020 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay
