What are your thoughts about a nightmare?

There are beliefs in some places or countries that if someone has a nightmare it means that you saw what might happen in the future, and some people said that we can ignore it and it is just a bad dream, and other people also said that if you have nightmare you have to tell it to a lot of people so that it'll not happen. For me, I don't know if a nightmare is showing what will happen in the future but, I'm just ignoring it because after a few hours I'm going to forget what is my dream all about, and I can't even remember it when I'm trying to remember what happened to my nightmare.

Not all dreams are really telling you something. In my experience, I didn't have a nightmare that really happened in real life. Others think that it is the accumulated fears, that you experience during your waking time and you just released those fears through your dreams because during your wake up time you try to suppress them. So when you are asleep you do not have control of your emotions that it comes out into a nightmare to you.

Indeed, and that is the reason why I'm just ignoring my nightmares. Anyhow after a couple of hours, we'll no longer remember what nightmare do we have

I don't believe believe in nightmares.some people do believe in nightmares but it's very rare that it could happen in your life

For me, nightmares don't predict the future. That's humbug.

I have heard of these beliefs too (except the one about telling it to people). I think that these beliefs shouldn't be paid any attention to unless we know a person who can confirm that his/her nightmare came true.

Some people know that it is not true but they are still doing it just to make sure that it will not happen to someone or to the person that they have in their dream
