So my daughter and I try to do her assignment today. It's about alternative power source. We try lime, the LED is still off. We try potatoes, the result is still the same. I don't know what's the problem. Any idea?

How many limes/potatoes have you used ? One is not enough to light a LED, you should connect at least 4 half-limes (2 limes) in series to get a small light with a basic LED needing 1.5 to 2 volts.

Really? I don't know that. I only use 1 lime tho. My daughter's friend tried it with 1 potato, she made it. I try with 2 potatoes, we failed.

@Cheyee Your daughter's friend was lucky. Have you tried to connect your potatoes in series ? You put a nail in a side of each potato and a copper coin on the other side, then you connect the nail of potato 1 to the coin of potato 2, and the coin of potato 1 + the nail of potato 2 to the LED.

I am not good at it. Perhaps you can check it on Youtube. There are some videos that will show how.

If you already watched videos and followed the instructions, maybe you can check the connections.

Probably the cable was too thick. I will buy the thin one tomorrow.

It was century ago? Lol. I never do this, my dad said maybe the cable was too thick, so the power wasn't enough. I will try to change to the thin one tomorrow.
