The Couchdiya is used to light the houses in Diwali in India.

Diwali is the greatest festival of lights for Hindus in India. In different parts of the country, the couch diya or shankha panchapradip is used to light the houses. 14 diyas are lit because it is the 14th day of the calender month called Chaturdoshi.

Thanks Shohana, the diyas are good and look beautiful in the evening when the sky is dark for amavasya.
