Veteran's Day Dinner

Yesterday is Veteran's Day, a day when we remember and recognize those who have dedicated their lives to serving our great country. My husband was in the USMC, and to celebrate this day, I told him that dinner's on me. I called ahead a small restaurant in town to make a reservation and to make sure that we can still social distance. Fortunately, I was able to secure a table and after work, hubby and I went there to have a small celebration. When our server learned that my husband used to be in the military, she said that his food is on the house. We were pleased and thankful that they are doing this for our veterans. Dear husband had a pulled pork sandwich with fries and corn bread. And I had their pulled chicken mac and cheese. It was really good, and we both agreed to return to that restaurant in the future. Hopefully this pandemic does not get worse that everything gets shut down. To all our veterans and their families, thank you for your service and sacrifices. This is a late post, but please know that even if it's not Veteran's Day, you are all appreciated.

I am glad to hear you and your husband had a nice dinner. Getting out and about and helping our community, is just as important.

Thank you, and yes I am glad that even in this pandemic, people in the community still care. We made sure to tip our server more than what we usually do since we saved so much on my husband's free meal.
