We survived the storm

Tropical Storm Eta hadn't been nearly as bad as predicted. While it did cross our state, we were far enough south that we only got a little bit of rain and mild winds. Honestly, I'm glad the storm didn't really do any damage. Our power didn't even flicker. Down south of us and up north are a different story. They got the brunt of it.

I am so glad that you were kept safe through this turbulent storm. Others have been hit hard, as you said in different areas of Florida.

Yeah, I know. I seem to avoid a lot of storms here.

@kaylachan We were suppose to get a harsh windstorm a couple nights ago. It was just some rain with a little bit of wind.

Me, too. I'm happier severe hurricane impacts are rare. When I learned this was a "strong" Tropical storm (five miles below a Hurricane) I worried we'd have some damage. But, all we got was some rain.

I know we are. We seem to live in this pocket. Back in 05 we had three hurricanes hit us prty hard. We lost power then, but we were living a very poorly constructed apartment.@thelme55

That's good that you missed the worst of it, I hope too much damage wasn't done elsewhere.

Other places around us dealt with massive flooding. While I'm estranged from my family, I do wonder about them sometimes.

Same here. While I can live without electronic devices, I can't live without Ac. And, believe it or not, it's still getting warm enough to need it.

Glad you only received some rain. Hopefully, hurricane season will be gone for a while.

We've got a small cold front on top of us right now. It's enough to cool the water around us, which won't give hurricanes any more fuel.

Thank goodness Tropical Storm Eta did not do any severe damage. Losing electrical power is one of the worst feelings anyone has to go through.

I know. I rely on it so much. So do a lot of people. I've been without power for days at a time. When we don't loose it, I'm so greatful.

It was one of the last-named storms of the 2020 hurricane season. Apparently, it was their second list.

Yep. And, we got a cold front moving in which's effectively slowed things down a bit, too. It'll help turn any lingering storms and systems away from us or kill them off.

I haven't heard about our home in Ocala but I think it usually doesn't get much in the way of Hurricanes.

Good for you then. We had a storm recently and we had a block out for more than eight hours with no water as well.
