Soumitra Chatterjee acted in 14 films of Oscar Winning Director Satyajit Ray. He died yesterday at the age of 85 years. Many of his films like Apur Sangsar, Sonar Kella, Ghare Bhaire are internationally awarded films. He played a big innings in bengali films as hero and character actor. Let his soul rest in peace.

Thanks Arunimaji, his films had great social message, his film Bela Sheshe talked about a great bond between an Indian husband and wife. Soumitra played the old husband who gave divorce to Sathilekha his wife after 60 years so that she could learn bank transactions postal work as she was housewife. When they were separated Sathilekha survived, but Soumitra himself could not live without his old wife. the films show life, society, values, usages.

@sathviksouvik That sounds like an interesting movie with a very deep message. I hope to find it online. I can very well understand Bengali and don't need subtitles.
