My Baby Pukes Alot

November 16, 2020 11:49am CST
I breastfeed my kids. the first one did not puke but my second child pukes like crazy... I worry anytime I put her to sleep because sometimes you'll see milk coming through her nose and it looks as if she's stifling. Now I do burp her after she feeds. Why is this happening to her anyways?

How old is your 2nd child? Anyway, I had the same experience with you on the first and second month. I was so worried that time because I was so afraid that the milk will go to her lungs and will cause her problem. Even when I burp her, it would still happen. It gets better when the baby gets older. Now shes 4 months and so far no more puking and no more milk coming out of her nose. But I still burp her and even after burping I would still cradle her in an upright position to prevent reflux.

@Chineetah I felt the same. I had my first child 6years ago, so I was like back to square one lol. I am also the type of mom that is paranoid and jumps into conclusion right away. Good to know your baby is fine now.

we are experiencing the same thing!! she's 4 months old too, well in 6 days. She's not really puking anymore either so i'm relieved but i do the burping and upright position anyway too. lol. It was almost like it's my first time being a mom all over again.I felt inexperienced because my first child wasn't a puker. My burp cloths remained new

Your baby is probably overfed.

@Chineetah Well she spills some milk. It means she's full.

ok, do you have any tips to know when she's full? I usually worry she wasn't getting enough

Maybe she doesn't get on well with your diet. Like she might be allergic to cows milk that you drink for example. I would speak to your midwife or health adviser.
