If Donald Trump becomes a despot, do you believe foreign countries will permit American refugees?

I'm split 50/50: part of me doesn't believe things will get this bad, but the other half of me sees how bad it's already gotten. Trump is planning a coup and Republicans are threatening each other to make sure the narrative that the election has been rigged remains consistent. And I would certainly hope that if the United States became a fascist dictatorship, other countries would intervene in an attempt to get innocent civilians out of here. What are your thoughts? Do you anticipate it will get this bad? Do you think other countries would intervene?

Go to Canada, After realizing my country will always elect incompetent tyrants as Presidents, I decided to move to Canada and my life goes better.

I have been considering this move for a while. Yet Canada has its borders closed to Americans right now due to the Covid outbreak.

I really wish it were possible! Even right now, the hubs and I are struggling to just keep food in the fridge. There's no way we could pack up and move to another country. :/ I'm glad you were able to make it there, my friend, and Godspeed to you. :)

I think it would depend on the country and what relationship it has with the U.S. Trump can't accept he lost. Many of his supporters don't want to accept he lost. His claims, are only holding up results.

I agree! While he may not effectively sway the election to his favor, maybe he's just trying to stall it long enough for his loyalists to cook up something. :O

@disasteroidd420 It's possible. Some people are just sour loosers. At least no riots have broken out, again. Or, at least none I've heard.

You are saying what a lot of people believe is happening. I don't know what the end result of this mess is going to be, but there are a lot of very unhappy people who have bought into Mr. Trump's erroneous fraud campaign. I no longer expect Trump to concede. Though I expect he will step down. More likely he will head down to his Hotel in Florida for Christmas and then fail to return to Washington afterward. When January 20, 2021 rolls around, I believe Joe Biden will be legitimately sworn in as President. Sigh! Or maybe this is all just wishful thinking.

A guy I know wants to jump ship to Australia I am sure there will be a number of people in my country that will be like NOPE GO AWAY. With COVID I don't think that countries will be willing to step in and get people out.... It's rife in the US isn't it?
