Teaching about Thanksgiving

I homeschool and I'm wondering... Indigenous people, how are you teaching children about "thanksgiving" / what would you like to teach small children about Thanksgiving? We practice lots of gratitude around this time of year and celebrate solstice, but haven't covered the history yet. My oldest is finally old enough to ask questions and learn how the holiday became. But I want accurate history of the Native people of our nation and celebrate them ??
