Finished Shawl + Thoughts

Here is a picture of the shawl that I finished tonight. I wouldn't necessarily call it finished because I would have liked a border, but I didn't have enough yarn. I love the way this turned out otherwise.
It is a little too short around the shoulders, but not enough that I would really complain. The next time I make myself one, I'll buy more yarn so that I can make it just a tad bit bigger. I've already told my friend (who I'm making a shawl for) how much yarn to get.

Wish I could take credit for the staggered blues but the yarn itself did that. I guess the stitches I used had a hand in it, though.

I have black yarn, but I did not want to add a border with a different color of yarn. I'd rather keep the same color.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I like the darker colors but like the whole thing and all the colors. Have you started another one yet?

@Tina30219 No. I do have some purple yarn and I've considered starting another one in that, but I prefer the ombre yarns so I'll wait.

Thank you! Yes, I love the way the colors came out. The label on the skein showed a shawl but made up differently. It showcased more of the lighter blues, but I like that htis one shows off more of the darker ones.

@rakski Ah, I don't like wool yarns that much because they can be itchy and you have to handwash the items.

It does, but if I do a border (which I might not) it will make it that much bigger and fit a little nicer around my shoulders.

@paigea Right, I like the idea of a dark blue that then drastically changed to a lighter blue. Or a black to dark blue to light blue.
Yep, I'm going to use this as much as possible even if it's just as a house shawl.

@ScribbledAdNauseum that would be a good thing. Fitting better makes us use it more!
A dark blue might be nice.
