Two New Ways of Making Diamonds...

November 20, 2020 4:38am CST
Two new ways of making diamonds have been announced. The first one, researchers were able to create diamonds under intense pressure at room temperature in minutes. While we have been making fake diamonds for years, they always required intense heat to form. The second is similar in process to that other machine I posted that takes the carbon from the air. The company is calling the sky diamonds. These diamonds are supposedly exactly identical to the Earth-mined diamonds. The process is old-school, but made using entirely renewable energies. https://www.cnn.com/style/article/diamonds-from-sky-scli-intl-gbr/index.html And, on a side note, if you've never heard of this, you can turn a loved one's ashes into a diamond. Would you ever consider doing such a thing?
Diamonds might be forever, but that doesn't mean they have to take eons to form.

I really like semi precious stones. Diamonds are usually very expensive to buy. If they are made in minutes in the hot temperatures then do you think they will be any cheaper?

Natural diamonds have been artificially hoarded by large corporations like DeBeers for a long time now. Buying them new will cost a fortune. But, if you try to sell them, you get almost nothing. It's called artificial scarcity. Cubic Zirconia is made from the same process, but they are just slightly inferior to the real thing. The main benefit of doing this is manufacturing the diamonds that are used in electronics.

I read about that this morning. No. I prefer mined diamonds. My religion doesn’t allow for cremation and ew

One day we may finally create that philosopher's stone. At least that seems possible in the future, if I think about all the latest studies and researches. Diamonds... gold... we will always chase them .
