CoViD-19 Numbers are presently on the downward trend in my domain

Despite the declining numbers in my area, it was announced and suggested by the Competent Authority - that Christmas activities should be canceled this year.
I don’t understand it, as Christmas is a daily celebration for me that’s never interrupted.

Simply because people, governments, in particular, are using the virus as an excuse to flaunt their authority. Some of what's being suggested I'm some parts of the U.S. border on downright ridiculous, to the point, it's a wonder if there is any truth to it. None of them have an actual background in medicine. None of them treated actual patients in a medical setting. The CDC is changing its recommendations based on who's paying them, and the government obviously doesn't know what they're doing. Canceling events, banning sports, it's insane.
