Day 109 Promise 568 Romans 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. Every year people adopt 135,000 children. Those children have the same rights and privileges of the family who adopted them. Paul told the Romans they received the Spirit of adoption when they accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord. They were then part of the family of God with all the privileges Jesus has as the Son of God. As Christians, you are a joint-heir with Jesus Christ because you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord. Do you act like you are part of God’s family with rights and privileges? Or do you act like an outsider who knows you’re a Christian, but hasn’t partaken of the benefits of a child of God? You belong to an earthly family. You know where you fit in that family. You know all the benefits you have as a member of the family. As God’s child, you have the same benefits and claims as Jesus does with the Father. What are your benefits as God’s child? Psalm 103:1 (A Psalm of David.) Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. 2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: 3 Who forgives all thine iniquities; who heals all thy diseases; 4 Who redeems thy life from destruction; who crowns thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; 5 Who satisfies thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Paul told the Romans they could call God, Abba, Daddy. When you pray, do you call God, Daddy? As God’s child, all His promises are yours. He isn’t selective about what He will do for His Son, Jesus, and what He will do for you. Jesus told His disciples to ask the Father whatever they will in His name, and God would do it for them because it brought glory to the Father. John 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it. Paul said the Holy Spirit bears witness with your spirit that you belong to the Father. You are His child. Because you are His child, you need to start acting like a child of God, accepting His promises for you. Let’s pray: Father, thank you that I am Your child. Help me act like a member of Your family with the same rights and privileges as Your Son, Jesus. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. I think never been using Daddy for prayers but it's usually Father or God, Lord.....
