I think
1- One (either girl or boy) gets rid of several Evil doings.
2- One gets someone really CARING for her/him.

I am not sure what the advatages are, I guess it gives some people a sense of security. I have been with my man for 6yrs and we are not married. I feel as secure not married as I would if I was.

Well Thx dear.. I had in my mind only two situations either unmarried or married :).. yours case is special so cant say. But i think not much difference in your culture among married and the status you have.. but dont know much about that... as here in Pakistan people are either unmarried or married.
