It finally happened

The weather finally started to get on the colder side. While the temps didn't drop as low as 39, the wind sure makes 43 feel a lot colder. I know some of you in the northern states have been dealing with snow ice and freezing rain. And, Florida's held off with spring like weather, but now.... it finally reached us. Thankfully, the weather hasn't or won't get much colder than this (or shouldn't), but it's still jarring. Our house holds in warmth pretty well, so I haven't had to turn on the heater, but I'm thinking I will over the next few days.
Now, if I could just get my husband to quit dragging his heals and take me to Wal-Mart. I'll be happy.

I check FL weather online every day and saw the low in my area. Brrrr. It won't last long. We'd be leaving for FL in a couple of days, but of course not this year. It was always so nice to get off the plane to 80 degree weather and sunshine.

I know it won't last long, never does. I also can handle wearing shorts in 50 degree weather. However, I also know this is the first and strongest front of the season, which means there will be more to come in the coming months. I just wish my husband would stop stalling and take me to wal-mart to get some long pants.

@kaylachan Long pants would certainly help. We used to love those cold nights. We slept with the lanai doors opened even when it went down to the 40s.

@DianneN The only downside to the cold, it's a killer on the joints. I just took a pain pill, but I doubt that it's going to help much. I need to/should wash my winter clothing, or possibly, finally, turn on the heater.

Lucky, glad you're not getting snow. I'm sure you'll be complaining about too much snow soon enough.

@kaylachan I LOVE snow, autumn and winter are my favorite seasons.
I'm not a fan of heat and humidity which is what we have 8-9 months of the year here.

You can't go to Walmart on your own? We've had the heat on here in Michigan since the end of October but it's only showed once and had been dry ever since then.

I could, but I try not to. If my husband can't drive me, then It's hours on a public bus, and at least an hour in-store. With my vision loss, I would also have to flag down an employee to help me find what I'm looking for. I've done it before, but I prefer not to have to. I don't like broadcasting things like my size to strangers if I can help it. George has agreed to take me Saturday, so no harm is done. I just snapped at him yesterday.

The cold isn't the problem. Having warm clothes is. I prefer he cold over the heat, but I could still freeze if I don't put on warm clothing.

Florida is a lovely, peaceful State to live in.
Was your husband able to accompany you to Wal-Mart?

Yes, I do, apparently. Funny enough, we were in Wal-Mart Neighborhood supermarket a month ago. I should've insisted we go to the super center so I could buy pants and he can buy shoes. Every time I bring it up, he just says 'I need shoes.... ' but does nothing about it. Last night he was talking about duck taping his shoes. Yet, he wanted to shoot me a little extra money to buy digital copies of some of our favorite Christmas movies. God, I'd settle for a solid pair of jeans.....

It's good you haven't needed the heater until now.
I hope you get to Wal-Mart.
