I just read this tabloid from a classmate she shared on facebook. It seems Christmas activites like caroling / singing at neighbors were forbidden. Specially kids chasing their god parents who hides / makes excuses every time this month I still don't know I was picked a god parent...People usually choses the rich and influencial..But then what is the true role of a god parent, is it only on christmas?

Godparents are supposed to look after the kids should anything happen to the parents, also ensure they're brought up in the parents' religion.

Hello @BarBaraPrz So that's how it's supposed to done. People should be responsible in choosing their God parents. I guess couple's themselves doesn't know what the real purpose of a god parents is.

So caroling is forbidden as well as going house to house to greet Merry Christmas and collecting candies and coins?

Hello @yoalldudes not sure how strict they are though. I would have wanted that because it would annoy me since the dogs would kept on barking.

It's quite an honour to be a godparent, the parents must think a lot of you.

Based on Cambridge dictionary : (in the Christian religion) a person who, at a baptism ceremony, promises to help a new member of the religion, usually a child, in religious and moral matters. But maybe people think it's cool if you have rich and influential godparents. But I don't know, I don't have one since I am not a Christian.

Hello @Cheyee This is why you should know the person personally before you put them in the godparent's position.

@Letranknight2015 if you want someone to be your child's godparents of course you should know them. Godparents have important role in your child's life.
