Day 119 Promise 578 1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness, but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. (KJV) People seek power in their endeavors. They want to know that what they do is important and people will listen to them. Paul told the Corinthians there was power in the cross of Jesus Christ. As Christians, your power comes from your confession of faith in Jesus Christ because you believe He died for your sin and rose for your salvation. There is no greater power than what you get from God. God’s power in you destroys Satan’s strongholds. It brings conviction to those the Holy Spirit brings to a new faith. You are God’s instrument of salvation to those who don’t know Him. 2 Corinthians 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. What are your weapons of warfare? Ephesians 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; You have great power with God. Those who don’t know God, consider you foolish. They don’t understand where your power comes from. Don’t let your power go to waste, but use it against Satan to crush him and bring his kingdom down. Let’s pray: Father, Your Word is powerful. Help me bring Satan’s kingdom to its knees as I bring Your Word to those whose hearts are tender toward You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
