An Old Pen Writes Better

I mentioned on a previous post that I wrote about 20 Christmas cards to our family and friends. I was using a pen with a faux diamond on top, one of those cheap supplies that we can get from Amazon. After about 5 cards, this pen gave up and the ballpoint sunk into the tube and I cannot take it out anymore, so I used a felt tip pilot and bic pen. These too soon gave up, one of them actually leaked ink so I have to re-write 2 cards that got ruined.
When I was rifling through my husband's home office drawer, I found a cuple of his old silver Cross pens. These looked so fancy and feels heavy. I twisted it to write on a scrap of paper and I saw that it still writes and the ink is still good. So I took it and used it to write the rest of our Christmas cards.
I finished the rest using the old Cross pen. While I am not very familiar with the brand, I heard that these are a bit pricey, but certainly not like Montblanc or Pelikan. I showed it to my husband and he said that he's had it since his work in avaiation, which is in the late 90' to early 2000's. That means this pen could easily be 20 years old, and it still works better than the newer ones that I have.

My pen has unique ability, hide when I need it. In the end I always buy the new one. I have my favorite brand. Kenko gel pen or dong a my gel pen. Those are not expensive, make my handwriting looks nice. The only problem is it needs a little time to dry.

Goodness, your handwriting can be mistaken for a computer font. It is so neat and so consistent. Dong-a-my gel pen is also a favorite of mine. I actually used it in college as it makes me feel good about my handwriting, especially when it's writing down answers for quizzes and tests.
